Reverse Hybrid Workshop Series
Hands-on training across multiple HPC.nrw locations

The workshop series in the reverse-hybrid format of HPC.nrw continues in summer 2026 with new dates and once again targets all those who wish to further develop their practical skills in key tools for scientific data processing. The focus is on the programming languages Python and R, as well as efficient use of Linux environments and version control with Git, which are essential foundations for modern research and HPC workflows.
The sessions are conducted virtually by instructors based in Bonn and streamed live to multiple HPC.nrw locations. Participants attend on site at their respective locations and receive individual support from assistants during questions and practical exercises. This creates a hands-on training format that effectively combines the advantages of in-person and online teaching.
The next course unit, Intro to Programming with Python, will take place on June 15 and 16, 2026 and marks the start of the new workshop series.
The reverse hybrid format not only promotes knowledge exchange but also fosters networking within the HPC.nrw community. Through cross-location collaboration, a vibrant network is created that sustainably strengthens the exchange between universities, researchers, and HPC experts.
